Hibiscus tea made from dried parts of the hibiscus plant, is deep red in color. It has sweet and tart flavors, similar to cranberry, and may be consumed hot or iced.

Roselle, having various medically important compounds called phytochemicals, is well known for its nutritional and medicinal properties. These are rich in carotene, riboflavin, anthocyanin, ascorbic acid, niacin, calcium, iron and vitamin C. The young leaves and tender stems of Roselle are consumed raw as green vegetable. The Roselle seeds are good source of protein, fat, total sugars and are widely used in many countries.
Hibiscus tea is naturally calorie and caffeine-free. It can be served hot or iced.
